High School Principal’s Message:
Welcome to Colonel Crawford High School. On behalf of the faculty, staff, and administration, I would like to wish all students a successful 2022-2023 school year. I truly value the opportunities for both strong academics and extracurricular opportunities that Colonel Crawford provides and hope that you will encourage your son or daughter to take the opportunity to get involved. Strong academics and extracurricular programs as well as a connection to the community help develop a well-rounded individual for the 21st century.
CCHS is a rural high school that offers many educational opportunities. We are privileged to be part of a community that is supportive of maintaining a high level of education. CCHS serves approximately 330 to 350 students in grades 9-12. This year over 50 students are attending Pioneer Career and Technology Center in Shelby, Ohio. CCHS was rated as an "A" by the department of education on the new state report cards and was rated “Excellent with Distinction” by the Ohio Department of Education in the 2012-2013 school year and was "Excellent" for the school years, 2010-2011, 2009-2010, 2008-2009, 2007-2008, 2006-2007, 2005-2006, 2003-2004, and 2002-2003. This is a result of meeting 12 out of 12 state indicators on the State Report Card.
CCHS has many students who participate in the College Credit Plus as we offer 23 (CCP) courses on our home campus. College Credit Plus allows students to take college classes almost anywhere. Traditional students have taken classes at Mansfield OSU, North Central State College, Marion Technical College, and Marion OSU for college credit, while still enrolled in high school. Beginning the 2012-2013 school year we College Credit Plus classes at CCHS (formerly dual enrollment) options from *North Central State College and **Hocking College in *Trigonometry, *College Algebra, *Calculus I & II (Mrs. McKibben), and *Statistics (Mr. Enders). *Communications (Mr. Cochran), **Physics, **Chemistry, **Advanced Chemistry (Mrs. Dzugan), *Digital Literacy Application, *Powerpoint, *Word, *Personal Finance, **Accounting, *Excel, *Word, and *Advanced Excel (Mr. Miller, **Psychology & Sociology, *Western Civilization I & II (Mr. Daniels), *Music Appreciation (Mrs. Eachus), *English Composition I & II (Mrs. Parsons). We are even looking to add more CCP courses in 2023-2024. This allows students to earn high school and college credits for their classwork and stay at Colonel Crawford for the traditional high school experience. We are also looking to explore adding more College Credit Plus classes in the future.
CCHS also offers a variety of quality extra-curricular programs. Students can choose from 12 different sports to greater enhance their high school experience. CCHS also continues its strong support for athletics, as we were the Northern 10 Conference. CCHS will again be participating in a Random Drug Testing Program for all athletes and students who drive to school. This is just another outreach in an effort to keep our students safe. CCHS is a member of the N10 Conference which is made up of currently 8 schools. (Buckeye Central, Bucyrus, Colonel Crawford, Carey, Mohawk, Seneca East, Upper Sandusky, and Wynford)
We encourage parents to monitor student progress through the use of the Progress book. If you encounter any problems with your access password, please contact the high school office. (419-562-4666)
